Our vision for the future
The IPCC and IPBES released damning reports on the state of climate change. So how can we use Impact Communication to change minds and create action?
The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) dropped a landmark report on the desks of every concerned environmentalist. It concluded that we have just 12 years to limit global temperature increase to 1.5C. The alternative is worldwide catastrophe.
Following that we have had the recent release of a report on global biodiversity loss from the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. This shows that humans are directly responsible for the loss of over 1m species. We can no longer argue that things can stay the same.
We now have the UK & Ireland both declaring climate emergencies.
In the UK we also have huge issues in our economy where the poorest fifth of society have only 4% of the total income, whereas the top fifth have 47%.
How do we convince the general population, policy makers and the business world to make the huge changes required? We believe it's all about Impact Communication.
Getting into the doughnut
Our mission is to see a world that fits inside Kate's 'Doughnut'.
We are currently signed up to DEAL - Doughnut Economics Action Lab, which starts in early 2020 and we are proud to be among the first organisations to be a part of this. Here we will share our expertise in communication with organisations from all over the world choosing to be conscious and sharing their insights and best practices.
From there we will be able to deliver more workshops, training and services to our clients all over the globe. Expanding our network will also be a key element here and serving our local community with our international friends knowledge and guidance.
Local economy inspired by global ideas.
The future for Conscious Creatives
Of course we cannot ask for change within our clients if we are not willing to do the same. We are starting off the decade with some ambitious plans.
1. Become a certified B-Corporation
2. Expand and diversify board of directors
3. Become certified Carbon Neutral
1. Create community energy cooperative
2. Create community garden and deliver food parcels
3. Create space for discussion of mental health
