Growing new customers by 500% in 7 months

A skincare brand that put together a beautiful balance of people, planet & profit wanted growth to reflect their stellar products.

We set them on a simple path that as always started with research. We looked at their competitors, the skincare market across the UK, the product USPs and their existing customers to determine a set of key messages that we could create offers from and take to market. 

Our first step was focused on the website home page, getting that to be our first landing page by breaking it down into different sections and optimising everything for conversion. 

We introduced a new Lead Magnet, a way of potential customers not ready yet to still show interest. In our case a simple quiz for determining their type of skin and what products they might need. 

This nudged us into looking at their email cadance, particular their automated flows. Our client really leaned into this and developed a lovely 90 day window of around 20 emails to nurture leads. 

Finally we looked at how they were spending their budget, put the right amount in the right platform, ran some simple tests and began to scale. 

After 7 months of working together we had increased their First-Time customers in Shopify by over 500%. That’s undeniable growth. After month 8 we had managed to reduce their cost per new customer (nCPA) from about £83.96 to £34.31. Not only more customers but more profit too.

Managing Your PPC

In 2024 running ad campaigns is very different than it was even 5 years ago. Meta, Google & TikTok have emerged as the top platforms and each have their own AI Algorithm attempting to make finding new customers easier than ever. 

The fancy targeting and retargeting strategies are being left in the dust and creative is the new king. Most of our time is now spent focused on ads and how they deliver a potential customer to your landing page.

  • Meta For Reach

    Meta is the go to platform for reaching new customers. It has the longest, most proven conversion rates as well as having key placement options across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. In Meta we will test its AI in various ways to ensure you’re maximising your potential but our typical account structure now looks like 3-4 campaigns maximum. Our time and effort will be spent working with you on creative ideas and engaging with your audience.

  • Google For Closing

    While your brand is finding its feet you may find that Google is only needed to cover off your brand keywords in order to be very successful. We will make sure that your Merchant Centre is setup properly, that you’re appearing in Shopping searches and then as your brand grows we can help supplement some of the reach with YouTube campaigns and developing in organic platforms that still have potential like YouTube shorts. 

  • TikTok For Diversity

    Without a doubt the TikTok algorithm remains the best at finding what you want to watch and dropping it immediately into your timeline. Even if you didn’t know you wanted to watch it. We encourage clients wanting to use TikTok’s ad services to be very careful. The platform isn’t proven yet and countries are beginning to ban the use of the app. If you’ve got great educational content then this is definitely an option for you but setup is key to success here and requires a lot of preparation and management for success. If this is a platform that you believe is necessary for your brand that we will ensure you find results.

Engaging Emails

Often clients refuse to believe me that email is still absolutely essential for delivering revenue. They get annoyed by terrible emails from other brands and just assume there is no good way left to communicate via this channel.

    No matter what industry or product having a weekly or a monthly newsletter is absolutely key to email marketing success. 

    These emails are your chance to connect with your audience about shared values and are designed for one very specific purpose, which is open rates. 

    Getting your list activating themselves by opening your emails will slowly but surely create value in their inbox and prevent the ’emotional unsubscribe’. It’s crucial to keep them interested so that when you send a sales email it’s well received and gets the revenue.

High Converting Landing Pages

Landing pages are absolutely key to increasing your conversion rate from cold traffic. This is crucial if you want your ecommerce store to succeed. 

We have studied the most successful brands from across the globe and have several wireframe templates that we can start with to create absolutely killer landing pages.

    Working with a skincare brand we took them through our process. Looking at their ads, their landing pages and their email flows. We had a target ROAS and target nCPA (cost per new customer). 

    Over 7 months we slowly and surely tested and scaled each area until we hit the targets. Now moving into month 8 we are fully prepared for Peak Season and looking towards a very prosperous 2025. 

    First-Time customers in Shopify are up 500% and we’ve lowered the nCPA by 60% making those new customers more profitable along the way. Which is awesome because 40% of their profit is donated to planting trees, reducing carbon and impact.

    Menopause was a bit of a taboo word when we started working with this client 6 years ago. We wanted to help them take their business to the next level while also supporting them to help more women. 

    Over the 6 years we have grown their revenues by 45% hitting 2000+ new customers per month. Even through the tough times of the last year we’ve maintained an nCPA of £32-35. 

    With this mature business we also had challenges in AOV to overcome. As economic challenges hit, baskets got smaller and smaller. So we had to work hard to create offers that really sold the highest value products and bundles.
