Partners, Press, United Nations

We are proud to announce that we have completed our application and have become the only SME from Cornwall to represent the area at this level.

This week we have completed our final documents and have joined many organisations from across the UK to join the United Nations Global Compact UK Chapter.

What does membership mean?

Our membership will allow us to continue advocating for a UK wide adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals and influencing policymaking at the national level.

We have seen a rise in marketing agencies and freelancers suddenly jumping on this wave of sustainability. This is a good thing as it means that the market place is changing and that more and more businesses are working out the best way to present themselves to ethical consumers.

The journey for us, however, has been since day 1. Attempting to understand our role and our impact. Embracing the complex and making it simple. Sustainability isn’t a value proposition for us, it’s a way of life. Joining the UN Global Compact just feels right. We are experts in sustainability and communications and we know that in order to achieve results in one, you have to have the other.

Cornwall as a centre for sustainability

This also furthers our mission to put Cornwall on the map for sustainability. Often we are forgotten about by Westminster and seen purely as a place to come on holiday. That’s simply not true.

Cornwall is a thriving place of business in all sectors and we are seeing some extraordinary progress in terms of sustainability here. From our partners like Tevi and the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce putting sustainable development at the top of their priorities, through to our local clients like CMP and AMS Instrumentation, embedding the Sustainable Development Goals into their organisations.

Next year we are happy to be supporting our clients, the Penzance Town Deal Board, to present their work around the Town Deal funding to the UN Global Compact as a case study for all of the UK to showcase how it is possible to make difficult decisions through a framework of sustainability.

Approaching the future

Our vision for working with the UN Global Compact will be to continue to support advocacy and pressure Government at all levels to embrace the Sustainable Development Goals while ensuring that we raise local, Cornish voices in sustainability.

If you would like to talk to us about joining the United Nations or about how you can easily embed the Sustainable Development Goals in your organisation then please reach out to us by emailing me directly, [email protected]. We can set up a time to talk about your vision for your organisation and how sustainability plays a role.
